A budget-friendlier, faster-to-build option for rural and acreage lots — a modern steel exterior, finished inside and out by Renovar.
Provisional estimate, pending a final material takeoff — not a firm price. The steel shell alone runs roughly $15/sf; windows, doors, garage doors, and all interior finish are priced separately and vary by selections. Delivered all-in pricing (shell, foundation, and finish) is currently targeting $200–240/sf, with a goal of reaching the $200/sf range on the right lot. The steel barndominium starts as a structure-only shell, built by our steel partner in Missouri and shipped to your lot. Windows, doors, garage doors, and all interior finish are quoted separately, based on your selections.
The exterior shell — steel framing, siding, and metal roof, with window and door openings precut — is factory-built by our steel partner and shipped to your lot. Renovar handles the foundation, delivery, and all interior finish. It's a faster, more budget-friendly path than fully site-built framing, especially on larger rural footprints.
The exterior shell is built off-site while your foundation and site work get prepped, so there's less time with an active jobsite on your property.
A steel exterior shell typically costs less per square foot than fully site-built framing — especially valuable on the larger footprints common to rural and acreage lots.
Steel siding and standing-seam metal roofing give a clean, contemporary exterior. The honest tradeoff: steel is harder to remodel or reconfigure later than wood framing.
Renovar is also a full-service design/build general contractor. We design and build custom ADUs, additions, guest houses, primary homes, and multifamily projects.
A factory-built steel shell — framing, siding, and metal roof — delivered to your rural or acreage lot and finished by Renovar. A budget-friendlier, faster path than fully site-built framing, with a clean modern look that's the right fit when HOA rules aren't a constraint.
